Dr. Taft is a licensed clinical psychologist specializing in the psychological impacts of chronic digestive diseases. She has published extensively in this field across multiple digestive illnesses including irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), inflammatory bowel disease (IBD; Crohn's Disease, Ulcerative Colitis), eosinophilic gastrointestinal diseases (EGIDs including EoE), and achalasia.
Dr. Taft's academic focus is to evaluate psychological aspects of digestive illness experience and symptom reporting. She also investigates evidence-based behavioral interventions that may mitigate issues that exacerbate disease and psychological distress with the over-arching goals to improve patient well-being and outcomes.
