Simon Knowles is an Associate Professor of Clinical and Health Psychology and registered Clinical Psychologist based at Swinburne University of Technology, Melbourne Australia. Simon’s clinical and research interests relate to the biological and psychological interactions of gastrointestinal conditions and the brain-gut axis, particularly how to ameliorate the significant impact of living with chronic gastrointestinal conditions through psychological interventions. He has attained over 4.1AUD million in research funding and published over 100 publications, including being the lead Editor for the book entitled “Psychogastroenterology with Adults: A Handbook for Mental Health Professionals”, published by Routledge Press in 2019. His research has been cited in multiple international guidelines for the management of gastrointestinal conditions, and his multiple eHealth resources for gastrointestinal conditions (see: www.mindovergut.com) have been used by over 500,000 individuals from around the world.
