Dr. Olafur Palsson is a Professor of Medicine and clinical psychologist at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. His research interests include investigation of the epidemiology of Disorders of Gut-brain Interaction, development of questionnaires to improve GI research, the psychological and physiological aspects of GI disorders and symptoms, and the use of psychological treatments for GI disorders. He is Co-chair of the Rome V Questionnaire Development Committee, and serves as Data Manager for the Rome Foundation Research Institute. Dr. Palsson is an expert in the use of large-scale Internet surveys for population-based GI health assessment, and was in charge of the electronic data collection in the Rome Foundation Global Study of Disorders of Gut-Brain Interaction.
