Dr. Di Lorenzo is Professor of Clinical Pediatrics at The Ohio State University and Chief of the Division of Pediatric Gastroenterology at Nationwide Children’s Hospital in Columbus, OH. For the past 30 years the focus of his academic activities has been the diagnosis and treatment of functional and motility disorders in children of any age. Dr. Di Lorenzo has pioneered the use of manometry and barostat testing to evaluate motor and sensory function in the upper and lower GI tract. He has published more than 280 peer-review and invited manuscripts in the field of functional and motility disorders in pediatrics and has co-authored the only two books on pediatric gastrointestinal motility He has served on the Editorial Boards of the Journal of Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition and Neurogastroenterology and Motility. He has functioned as a grant reviewer for the NIH and as abstract reviewer for the AGA. He was awarded the Master Award in Gastroenterology by the American Gastroenterology Association. He has been the President of NASPGHAN from 2014-6. He has served on the Council of the ANMS and was the Chair of the Growth, Development & Child Health (GDCH) Section of the AGA. He has been a member of the Subboard of Pediatric Gastroenterology of the American Board of Pediatrics and a member of the Functional GI Disorders and Motility Disorders Working Group of the National Commission on Digestive Diseases (NCDD). He has chaired the Rome III Child-Adolescent committee and the Rome IV Child-Adolescent committee. He was awarded the Master Award in Gastroenterology for Basic or Clinical research in Gastroenterology by the AGA Institute and the 2013 IFFGD Clinical Research in Pediatrics Award.
